About Ray lord

 

Over the past few years Ray has studied Ecological Agriculture Systems degree- Charles Sturt University via correspondence while working on cattle, sheep and goats’ properties. 

Along with implementing in field work experience, studied research from Professor Fred Provenza, Bruce Maynard, Dr Dean Revell of relationships between animals and landscapes. This has led to better understanding the art and science of managed migration of livestock through the landscape, ecology, animal behaviour and animal nutrition preferences.

Over the years Ray has supported his experience of low stress stock handling, working dogs, horsemanship skills with exposure to working alongside some caring and knowledge sharing stockmen. Also, education schools held by industry leaders Greg Prince, Grahame Rees LSS, Boyd Holden, Neil McDonald, John and Angie Wicks, Ian Francis which has developed into our Natural Stockmanship style.

Ray has experienced many landscapes and handled many species of livestock (such as sheep, cattle goats, horses) on properties/stations as a stockman, contractor and manager of Eastern Australian regions

· New South Wales high country such as Oberon, Orange, Guyra, Ebor. Plains and hills of Barraba, Quirindi, Coolah, Walgett to coastal country of central coast and north coast

· Open Plains of Queensland Southern Gulf, Central West and southern regions, 

· Outback of Northern Territory - Barkley Tablelands and Top End

These experiences have developed our Natural Stockmanship style to contribute to do our little bit for caring for our country.
